Through My Eyes
Year 5 spent the autumn term learning about American civil rights and then linked this learning to what also took place in the UK in the 1960s. They also made links with the more recent Black Lives Matter movement.
During this term, the children wrote their own speeches based on the speech that Martin Luther King Jr gave in 1963. They filmed their speeches on their class iPADs and then used a green screen app to transport each other to Washington DC.
We used i-movie on the IPADs to create one big class “I Have a Dream Speech”
