Past Work

War and Peace

The children in Year 6 watched the short animation “The Piano” as part of their theme. This depicts an elderly gentleman playing the piano and recalling memories from his past. The children then wrote in role as the man.

The children in Year 5 and 6 created pictures in art based on the poem “In Flanders Field.” These were displayed in the town centre as part of a community installation and along the school gates.

Year 6 wrote a script for an assembly about Armistice Day. Each child had an opportunity to record themselves reading part of the script in a PowerPoint. They also learnt the poem “In Flanders Field.”

All the children learnt the poem “In Flanders Field.” They used an iPAD to video themselves and then a green screen app to create a video.
